If you can drive a car

Why not name it? Today is Name Your Car Day!
Don’t want to name your car or your parent’s car? Why not give my car a name? I have a Subaru, so get to it!

Don’t want to do any of those things? Why not watch one of these movies?

Cannonball Run
The plot of a cross-country road race is based on an actual event, the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, organized by Brock Yates to protest the 55 mph speed limit then in effect in the U.S. The Cannonball was named for Ernest G. “Cannonball” Baker, who in the roaring 20’s rode his motorcycle across the country. Many of the characters are based on ruses developed by real Cannonball racers over the several years that the event was run. In this movie a wild, illegal, and popular cross-country car is organized, and the eccentric entrants will do anything to win, including low-down, dirty tricks.

Adventurer, Burt Reynolds decides to participate in an illegal car race all over the country. There is an all-star cast of racers (Jackie Chan, Farrah Fawcett, Peter Fonda, Dean Martin, Roger Moore, Sammy Davis Jr. and others) that will do anything to outrun all the difficulties (including the police) and win the race.

Cars
Hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on old Route 66, he meets Sally, Mater, Doc Hudson, and a variety of quirky characters who help him discover that there’s more to life than trophies and fame.

The Love Bug
Adventures of Herbie, the magical, almost-human Volkswagen that has a mind of its own.

Speed Racer
Speed Racer is a natural behind the wheel of his thunderous Mach 5. With the support of Pops and Mom Racer, girlfriend Trixie, younger brother Spritle and the mysterious Racer X, Speed takes on fierce competitors to save his family’s business and protect the sport he loves. When Speed steps on the track, it’s not just a race.
