Rats as Pets

A couple of years ago I had pet rats. When I tell people about it they look at me as if I’ve lost my mind. Nope. I had rats as pets and they were some of the best pets I’ve ever had. They’re affectionate, smart and clean. If you’re a good owner they’ll love you forever.

A woman came in to the library today and wanted us to vote for her incredibly adorable rat, Snickers, who is in a rat contest throughout August on the site The Agile Rat. Rats definitely make great pets, but just like any pet, you need to keep some things in mind before adopting one (or five!).
